About The College

Biswanath College of Education (BED COURSE) is a privately managed Secondary Teacher's training Institute affiliated to Gauhati University and reconised by the National Council for teacher Education. It is situated in the heart of the Biswanath Chariali town, Dist. Sonitpur Assam. The college progress its own NCTE specified building over 3.5 acres of land. Established in the year 1992. Gauhati University accorded affiliation for Bed Course in the year 1993 and the University Granted Bed examination center in the year 1994. The college is situated just near the Biswanath College and it is only one kilometer towards south of NH NO 52.

It is situated nearly 74 kilometre east of Tezpur Town by road. From Guwahati City it is nearly 300 KM towards east by road. The town is connected by N.F. Rly. The famous Biswanath Temple is only 10 Km South of the Chariali town. The place Biswanath is Known as "Gupta Kashi" (Hidden Baranashi) of the North East India. The king "Banasura" wanted to make another kashi dham at Biswanath Ghat (river past during british rule) which did not materialize. The place is holy place for Hindus.

  1. The college received affiliation for one year BEd Course from Gauhati University in the year 1993.
  2. Gauhati University granted B.Ed Examination Centre in the year 1994.
  3. College was shifted to its own building on its own land allotted by the govt.of Assam in the year 1994.
  4. NCTE first recognized the college in the year 1995 vide its order N0 4051 dt 5.8.97 with intake Capacity of 100.
  5. NCTE renewed recognized year 2002 vide order No EKC/7-25/2002/1848 dt 19/20 June 2002.
  6. As per regulation 2006 intake capacity of the College increase up to 100 from the Session 2006-07.
  7. 20% Seats are reserved for the students of out the state of Assam (Migrated) as per G.U. Guide line.
  8. Admission regulation of Marks (50% for general 45% reserved category) is strictly followed.
  9. The College is managed by a Private Body with "not for profit" motive.
